Frequently Asked Questions

+ WHAT DOES THE COUNSELING PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Counseling is a collaborative process between you and your therapist. It involves discussing the presenting issues that led you to seek help as well as pursuing the deeper, underlying factors that have contributed to the problem. We also formulate practical solutions to help you achieve your treatment goals.

Counseling is normally conducted on a weekly basis for a 50-minute session. Although this process can be psychologically challenging at times, you will do so in a safe and nurturing environment.

+ DO YOU SEE CLIENTS WHO DO NOT COME FROM A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE?

Although we counsel from a distinctly Christian perspective, we serve clients of various backgrounds and are aware that everyone is at a different place in their journey. We aim to respect each person’s values and their unique therapeutic goals. Our training meets all the requirements for Florida licensure and integrates the best of secular theory within a Christian framework. If during the course of treatment you believe your counselor is not a good fit or we feel another counselor could serve you more effectively, we will gladly make a referral.

+ HOW LONG DOES COUNSELING USUALLY LAST?

This depends on your particular situation. After conducting a thorough assessment, your therapist can give you a better idea on the length needed to meet your counseling goals. Some people come weekly for as little as 3 months while others invest in the counseling process for over a year. The average length of therapy is 6-9 months.

+ WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?

Our counselors offer convenient morning, afternoon, and evening appointments Monday through Friday. To find out the availability of each therapist, call us at 407-405-7677 or contact us here.

+ HOW DO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT?

Making the initial call to seek help for you or a loved one is one of the most humbling, yet courageous steps you can take. Call us at 407-405-7677 or contact us here, and we would love to take that step with you.

+ HOW MUCH DOES COUNSELING COST?

Our fees range from $95-$195 per hour, depending on each counselor’s experience and availability.

+ DO YOU OFFER REDUCED FEES FOR THOSE IN FINANCIAL NEED?

We do not want finances to keep you from getting the help you need. As a result, we may offer a fee reduction on a limited basis. To be eligible, you must complete a form that asks for a snapshot of your monthly income and expenses. Your therapist will also talk to you about other steps you can take to seek assistance in paying for counseling such as asking your church or support system to invest in your healing process.

+ DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

We are not an in-network provider for any insurance company, but we do provide a receipt that is compliant with all major insurance companies for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. You may call your insurance company to see if you are covered for out-of-network services. Many of our clients have been able to seek reimbursement from their insurance company.

+ WHY DON'T YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE DIRECTLY?

We believe that your mental health care should be confidential and not dictated by managed care companies. By not taking insurance directly, we are able to format your treatment to match your goals and values rather than the mandates of the insurance company.
